10/03/2024Working as a Phone Sex Operator
03/06/2024I thought it was about time I did another post on this frankly fantastic (if I do say so myself) escort blog, and I figured some tips on working as an escort in the UK in 2024 would be a good topic. These are not the obvious tips such as get a website, get pro photos, buy condoms etc. These are perhaps less obvious things that may not occur to you right off the bat, but are actually quite significant in making your working life safer, easier and more lucrative. No need for a big pre-amble here, so I am going to dive right in.
- Use a Separate Phone
Do not use your personal/civvie phone for ANYTHING to do with sex work. Whether you are an independent provider of escort services or an agency worker, buy a cheap but good-enough-to-be-reliable contract phone that you can dedicate to your escort persona. You are going to need this phone to arrange bookings, communicate with clients when you are trying to find their house or are lost in a hotel, and finally to run your social media accounts. Never install any escort social media on your personal phone – more on this soon. - Use Client Eye (https://www.clienteye.app/)
Client Eye is an app you can install on your escort phone, and once you have verified with Client Eye as a provider, you get a wealth of info at your finger tips. Info your peers have entered into the database linked to client phone numbers and/or email addresses. Has your potential client been rough with a provider before? Does he tend to cancel? Is he a total fantasist who will NEVER firm up a booking? Many workers enter abuse/problems/indiscretions/potential red flags into Client Eye so that providers who come later are better informed. That said, just because he is listed on Client Eye does not mean you have to write him off, it just allows you to make a more informed decision on booking him in. For example, if a client who regularly cancels according to Client Eye tries to book, I will take either a very large deposit or the entire fee before accepting the booking. It is a truly fabulous resource – please send them money if you use it! - Do Promote Yourself on Twitter & Instagram
Post daily if you can, especially on Twitter, as many good clients are on there and are swayed to book by the posts they see. Follow other escorts for a time to suss out what works. And that includes the Lulu Black twitter account, natch. Regardless of whether you’re an independent or agency worker, I highly recommend you run socials to complement your brand. It will make you more discoverable, more relatable, more appealing and ultimately put more dosh into your bank account. A word of caution about social media though. Never login into escort socials on your personal phone. The whole point of them is to connect you with others and, in my experience, no matter how many settings you tamper with lives begin to merge. The last thing you want is Twitter harvesting your contacts and letting Aunty Jean know you’ve joined as sluttysue101, or your brother having your escort persona pop up as a suggested friend on instagram. Similarly, that client you called from your personal phone – being careful to make your number private first – because you couldn’t find his room? Yep, you’ve just been suggested to him as a friend on Facebook. Keep escort social accounts to your escort phone, personal social accounts to your personal phone, and NEVER merge your contacts/address book between the two. - Do Consider Incalls
And realise this does not need to be your home or other permanent place. One thing that can hugely increase your income is relieving the client of the hassle/paper trail of booking a hotel. Consider – for an additional fee – booking the hotel room yourself and giving your client the option of just turning up. Day Use is a great website for finding cheap deals on hotel rooms between 10am-5pm, while booking.com, expedia, Tripadvisor etc are best for night reservations, which tend to be more expensive than day use. If you are only seeing one client, don’t worry too much about whether internal hotel doors/lifts need a keycard since you can nip down to collect your client from the lobby. However, if you are seeing multiple clients that day, consider searching for a hotel with ease of passage so you don’t arouse the suspicion of hotel staff. Colleagues on Twitter can usually help with suggestions or alternatively try the Saafe forum. In my opinion, high-ish deposits are crucial for any booking – incall or outcall – but increase your deposit for incalls to make sure the room cost is covered if the client has to cancel. Remember that all important term in your booking copy: deposits are non-refundable & non-transferable. - Set up a Sole Trader Business Bank Account
Choose a business name that doesn’t look out of place on a male bank statement – e.g. Gym Fit Co – and set up a sole trader account with a MAIN HIGHSTREET BANK. You can apply for sole trader bank accounts online, no need to schlep to a branch. This will allow you take deposits anonymously, without having to reveal your real name. Word of caution: if you choose an internet bank including Starling or Monzo, they will reveal your real name to clients during the process of the transfer, even if the account is for business. Avoid them. In my experience, the bricks and mortar high street banks including Barclays, Lloyds, Natwest & HSBC do not, they keep sole trader accounts anonymous. So it is one of these I recommend. You can also set up a Ltd company and an associated bank account, but this is not particularly tax efficient for a lone worker unless you are earning significant amounts of money. It also means your real name will be listed publicly on Companies House, and the client could very easily look that up. So stick to sole trader unless an accountant strongly advises otherwise. Oh and while we’re talking banks, advise international clients to use the intermediary Wise to get monies to your new business bank account from overseas. Keep it discreet, like everything else.
And that’s it! 5 useful tips on working as an escort in the UK in 2022. I hope they help and do feel free to message me if you want to dig a little deeper into any of it. I am always happy to chat to workers and help where I can (9-5, Mon to Fri).
